Known for his hi-energy stage performances
from 1953 to 1975, Jackie Wilson gained the
nickname of Mr. Excitement. Jackie Wilson
charted some 40 top R&B and Pop hits
through his career, including Higher and
Higher, To Be Loved and of course the
namesake of the show Lonely Teardrops.
Bobby Brooks Hamilton i the star of Lonely
Teardrops has an unprecedented likeness to
the late singer which has gained him much
notoriety, as it should. Bobby who grew up in
a foster home never knew his biological
parents.
After reaching adulthood and entering the
entertainment business, Billy Davis, Jackie
Wilson’s cousin, approached Bobby after
seeing him perform one night in Las Vegas.
Mr. Davis was mesmerized with Bobby’s
sound and physical likeness to Jackie Wilson.
He commented that Bobby must be related in
some way.
Intrigued by the notion, Bobby set out on a
quest to find out. After a long search, he
found his biological mother and discovered
that his mother had had a relationship with
Jackie Wilson. Given Bobby’s current age the
pieces fit that Jackie Wilson could have truly
been his father.

true or not they embraced Bobby as their own.
Bobby expressed to them his desire to keep Jackie’s legacy alive by showcasing his music in a show. The family
responded with an endorsement of Bobby’s intentions.
Now Bobby takes his likeness to the stage with the debut of Lonely Teardrops – The Jackie Wilson Story. The show is
musical tribute to Jackie Wilson, featuring more then 20 songs recorded and sung by the late singer. The show also
includes stories of Jackie’s life and his experiences on and off stage. Show goers can expect to see and hear recounts
of the influences Jackie Wilson had on the music business and the people he impressed.
